Failed Compressor

Your AC system has numerous components, but the most vital one is the compressor, as it’s the power unit for the whole system. Its job is to put the refrigerant under pressure, which changes it from a gas into a liquid and allows the cooling process to work. If you listen carefully, you will hear the slight click at regular intervals as the compressor switches on and off.
A compressor can fail for various reasons, including age, a lack of refrigerant, or a blown fuse. One of the most common causes is a lack of regular servicing. It can be easy to put off an AC check, but this can mean worn or damaged parts won’t be discovered and repaired. We’ll examine your compressor and fix any problems we find. If necessary, we can remove the compressor and install a new one for you.

Refrigerant Leaks

Refrigerant is essential for your AC, enabling the system to take in warm outside air, rapidly chill it, and pump the resulting cold air into your cabin. As we’ve seen, refrigerant is under constant pressure during the cooling process. This high pressure enables the AC to work effectively, but it can also lead to a rapid loss of refrigerant if a worn AC system springs a leak.
It’s impossible to spot a refrigerant leak under normal circumstances, as refrigerant is odorless, colorless, and immediately disperses in the air. Our technicians use a special UV dye released into the AC system to identify leak points. Once we’ve identified the site of a leak, we can permanently seal the hole to fix this problem.

Blocked Vents

Your AC has both external and internal vents. The external vent draws in warm outside air, and the vents in our cabin allow cold air to circulate through your cabin to cool you down. These two vent types can become blocked, limiting your AC’s ability to cool your cabin. A blocked external vent can prevent sufficient air from reaching your AC, and your AC won’t work.

The internal vents can also become blocked by leaves, dirt, and even bacteria colonies, which prevents cold air from the AC from reaching the cabin. We will examine your AC’s vents and ducts and remove any debris we find. Once the blockages are removed, your AC will work effectively again.
