2. Pokai Bay Beach Park

A popular spot for shoreline fishing, Pokai Bay Beach Park is located approximately 20 miles west of the Waipahu city center and can be reached in approximately half an hour by car via routes I-H-1 and HI-93. As the most protected bay on the west shores of Oahu Island, this place offers calm and clear waters, drawing thousands of visitors every year.
Name after the Hawaiian chief who is said to have brought the first coconut palm tree to Hawaii, Pokai Bay Beach Park is a place where you can go fishing and also spend the day relaxing and swimming in the ocean. Some of the fish species that can be found here include common dolphinfish, yellowfin tuna, bluefin trevally, and green jobfish.

3. Puʻuloa Beach Park

Boasting a beautiful shoreline and recreational facilities, Puʻuloa Beach Park is another excellent destination that can be reached in just 15 minutes by car from downtown Waipahu via Fort Weaver Road. Drawing local anglers throughout the year, this park is a great place for shoreline fishing and a fantastic spot to enjoy a day away from the city.
