Does Your Hyundai Need New Tires?

Tires play a significant role in driving safety, especially after rain, when hydroplaning becomes a real risk for drivers. If your tires aren't in excellent condition, you could lose traction or experience a blowout at any time while on the road. For safety's sake, here are some of the more common indicators that a driver needs to visit their closest Hyundai dealer for a set of new tires. more Need New Tires? Visit Your Hyundai Dealer Today Long Cuts or Gauges Tires can become cut by sharp objects on the road. Small cuts and even punctures can often be repaired, but when a cut or gauge is very long, the structural integrity of the tire may be threatened. That tire will probably have to go. Embedded Objects If you find a screw, nail, or piece of broken glass embedded in one of your tires, have it removed and see how deep the damage goes. It may have to be replaced if the tire can't be repaired. Continual Air Loss Strong tires should maintain air pressure well over time. Also, all four tires will usually lose pressure at about the same rate. If one of your tires is losing more air than the others week after week, it may be faulty or have a concealed puncture. You'll probably need to replace it. Blistering Tire Rubber Tire rubber sometimes blisters or bulges when air becomes trapped under the upper layer of rubber. This trapped air often indicates an inner puncture as a result of an impact with a pothole or curb. Any tire with blistering rubber is no longer safe to use. Spreading, Deepening Cracks Tire rubber dries out over time as a result of UV rays in sunlight and exposure to the elements. At first, this drying-out process creates small and harmless hairline cracks. At a later stage, the cracks might start to spread and deepen, putting the strength of the tire at risk. A tire with too many long, deep cracks will need to go. Visible Steel or Fabric The structure of a tire is supported inside by steel cords and fabric. If a crack or cut is ever so large that you can see the fabric or steel glinting inside, that tire is too damaged to drive on. Diminished Tread Depth Tires naturally lose tread depth from gradual wear and tear. When the treads grow too shallow, the tire can no longer grip the road firmly. Typically, drivers should replace their tires when the tread depth is near or reaches 2/32 of an inch. In the rainy season, when the roads are wetter and more slippery, you may want to replace your tires long before the treads become this shallow. Visit Tony Hyundai Waipio today to have your tires inspected, rotated, or replaced by experienced technicians. We're a locally trusted full-service dealership supplying O'ahu's drivers with great cars, deals, and customer service.

4 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your Waipahu Hyundai Dealer

When looking for car financing, your main options are to find a lender on your own or go through your Hyundai dealer. There are many benefits to going to the dealer for financing, and we'd like to talk you through them so you can make the best choice for you. more 4 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your Waipahu Hyundai Dealer 1. It's More Convenient When looking for a loan from a bank or another lender, you generally have to shop around. Not every lender is going to say yes, and you might have to compare and contrast different places regarding their interest rates, repayment terms, and other details. If you go to your dealer instead, then you don't have to deal with any of that. The dealer will take care of the process of shopping around and finding the best lender for you. This leads to a more convenient and less stressful experience. 2. It's More Flexible When looking for a lender by yourself, you generally must focus on dealerships within that lender's network. However, when you want to finance through a dealership, you just need to pick the dealership, pick the vehicle, and then let the dealership do the work to find a lender. You can end up getting the vehicle that you want without having to compromise based on which dealerships the lender will let you pick from. 3. It's Better for People with Lower Credit Scores People whose credit isn't in the best shape may have a better chance of getting financing by going through a dealership. Dealerships specialize in working with people with poor credit, helping them find a loan regardless of their low credit score. If you have poor credit, then your chances of getting a loan through a bank are significantly lower. It may take a long time before you find a lender willing to loan you the money to finance your car. 4. It's More Likely That You'll Get a Lower Interest Rate Sometimes dealers allow qualified borrowers to get financing with low rates. Sometimes, that rate can be as low as 0%. If it's not 0%, then it can still be significantly lower than the rate you'd get elsewhere. Shopping around different lenders can increase your chances of finding a loan with a low-interest rate, but it's never guaranteed that you'll find one. It's always more likely that your dealer will run a promotion at some point. Do you need financing to buy your next Hyundai? Come and talk to us at Tony Hyundai Waipio.

3 Engine Problems You Should Always Fix at Your Hyundai Dealer

Your engine is the most complex part of your Hyundai. Its countless components and numerous interdependent systems require regular servicing to keep it operating efficiently. In time, worn or damaged parts will lead to engine problems. As your Hyundai dealer, we can easily and effectively fix any possible problem for you. These are some examples of problems you might encounter. more 3 Engine Problems You Should Always Fix at Your Hyundai Dealer Broken Radiator Fan The radiator's job is to remove engine heat. Coolant flows through your engine and absorbs heat and then transports it to the radiator. The coolant enters rows of tubes in the radiator, and the heat inside the coolant is removed by air flowing over the tubes. This system works very effectively when your car is moving, as large amounts of air will flow in via the radiator grille. If your car is idling, a different method is used to remove the heat. A fan at the rear of the radiator switches on and blows across the back of the tubes. This forces the heat out of the coolant and blows it out via the radiator grille. The fan can fail due to age, damage, a blown fuse, or other reasons. If the fan doesn't work, your engine will rapidly overheat when your car is idling. We'll examine the fan and repair the problem. Engine Knocking Fuel and air are mixed in the intake manifold in a precise ratio. Your engine requires more air than fuel, and the perfect ratio for your engine is 14:1 air to fuel. When the mixture is correct, it will burn in a controlled and progressive manner. The burning produces shockwaves in your engine and generates the power used to move your car. If you hear a strange knocking sound from the engine, this is a sign of trouble. The noise is caused because the fuel is burning irregularly. When this happens, it produces random shockwaves which make a knocking sound. This problem could be caused by worn spark plugs, carbon buildup in the intake manifold, or the wrong octane gas. We'll investigate the cause of the problem and fix it. Oil Leaks Your engine's health and efficiency depend on a continual flow of high-quality oil. Oil lubricates your engine, reduces its internal heat, and helps protect the engine against rust and blockages. An oil leak is a serious problem, as a lack of oil can cause major engine damage. Oil could leak onto the ground, where it forms a pool of yellow, brown, or black liquid. Oil can also leak into your engine, where it turns the exhaust smoke blue. In either circumstance, the most important thing is to repair the problem ASAP. We can trace a leak and permanently seal it for you. If you experience any problem with your engine, call us right away at Tony Hyundai Waipio.

The combination of the 1.6L, 4-cylinder engine with a 32 kW electric motor and 240-volt lithium-ion battery provides you with between 49 and 53 mpg of city driving and 52 to 56 mpg of highway use, so visits to the gas station are far less frequent. The electrical charging system receives additional input from the kinetic energy produced during the braking action, which is converted into electricity and stored in the battery, becoming available for driving use. That is why Hyundai provides a 100,000-mile or 10-year warranty against any material, manufacturing, or factory installation defects of the lithium-ion battery, allowing you worry-free motoring. Digital Duo Display As well as mechanical excellence, innovative technology is at the forefront of the Elantra Hybrid. Particularly eye-catching, depending on the model, is the dual digital display. Two 10.25-inch adjoining displays provide state-of-the-art gauge and instrument readings on one and infotainment and navigation on the other, which connect seamlessly to your smart Apple or Android devices. Digital Keys In addition to the high-tech displays, there is also digital key technology available. Using Near-Field Communication (NFC), a tap or a wave of your smartphone will allow you entry and the ability to start your engine. The system is highly secure and will only work with correctly paired devices, which require the specific NFC card for the car and connection to your MyHyundai account to be activated. Hyundai SmartSense Safety is also at the heart of the Elantra Hybrid, and with the addition of Hyundai SmartSense, you have some of the best active safety technology available. Highlights include advanced systems such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with a Pedestrian Detection system to limit the possibility of accidents. These are just a few favorite features included on various models in the 2023 Elantra Hybrid range, but there are many others.
