3 Fun Fall Activities You Can Drive to From Waipahu, HI

He’eia State Park

This beautiful state park is just past Pearl Harbor. It’s on the east side of O’ahu and has an amazing view of Kaneohe Bay and Chinaman’s Hat. There are also some great hiking trails through a forest reserve that overlooks the bay. You can even go snorkeling if you want!
You can take a guided tour of the fishpond or explore on your own via hiking trails that lead to other historical sites. If you go during low tide, you’ll see a lot of marine life, including turtles and monk seals basking on the rocks.

Ahupua‘a ‘O Kahana State Park

Ahupua’a’ O Kahana State Park is a hidden gem in Waipahu, where you can enjoy some of the best scenery on Oahu. The park has two sections: Koolau Loa and Lower Kahana. Koolau Loa is located on the north shore, while Lower Kahana is on the south shore. The Koolau Loa section of this state park features a beautiful beach with white sand and calm waters, making it perfect for swimming or snorkeling.
A boardwalk also runs over the dunes, so you can get a closer look at the ocean from above. If you’re looking for something more adventurous, then head over to Lower Kahana, where there are hiking trails leading up into the hills and along a freshwater stream that flows throughout the year.

Aiea Bay State Recreation Area

The Aiea Bay State Recreation Area is a hidden gem. It’s located between Mililani and Pearl City, so it’s easy to get to Waipahu. The park is a great place to go hiking, fishing, and bird-watching! The park has some awesome trails that wind through trees and along the coast. You can also hike down to the beach, where there are tide pools and interesting rock formations.
You can even see whales if you time it right! If you’re looking for something more relaxing, take a drive down to the beach and walk along the shoreline. There are lots of people fishing off the rocks or just enjoying the sun as it sets over the water.

Hopefully, this list has helped stir up some fun ideas for your upcoming activities so that you can enjoy the cool Hawaiian weather.
