The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is the winner of the MotorTrend SUV of the Year award. This electric vehicle offers four trim levels, and it features a variety of safety and interior features. Exterior amenities help create a vehicle that is exciting to drive and looks great on the road.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Four trim levels are available: SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, and Limited. The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range, SE, and SEL models come with 19-inch alloy wheels and side mirrors with turn-signal indicators. All trim models come with active grille shutters as well. The SEL model adds a hands-free smart liftgate with an adjustable height setting. The Limited trim level is the most luxurious, offering a choice between 19-inch and 20-inch alloy wheels. This model also offers premium LED front accent lighting, premium side sills, and gloss-black exterior accents.
Engine (Power)
The IONIQ 5 has a state-of-the-art battery pack, which offers a high capacity and a longer range. The engine offers 77.4 kWh of power, and dual motors provide quick acceleration. Power all-wheel drive offers 320 horsepower, and power rear-wheel drive offers 225 horsepower. This means you'll have plenty of power when you get behind the wheel. You can choose various driving modes, like Snow Mode, to make your drive more efficient.
Performance
The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 can travel about 303 miles with a single charge, which gives it the highest all-electric range of all available Hyundai vehicles. Its battery also charges quickly. With an 800-volt DC ultra-fast charger, you can get about 68 miles of range in a matter of minutes. This is impressive because not every vehicle can use these ultra-fast chargers. Even with 400-volt DC charging, the IONIQ can charge from 10 to 80% in less than half an hour. This kind of charger is available at many public charging stations.
Interior
The standard Hyundai IONIQ 5 includes a variety of special features, including the 12.3-inch HD touchscreen. This screen makes navigating simple. Plus, the digital instrument cluster is large and informative. The seats are also comfortable, with heated front seats and an eight-way power driver seat. The back seats offer 60/40 folding with reclining and sliding features.
The Limited trim offers several additional features, including a driver's seat with a relaxation function, perfect for when it's time for a break. This edition also offers rain-sensing wipers that keep your mind on the road. Buyers also have the option to add an HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive package.
Safety Features
Several safety features make getting behind the wheel even safer than it was with previous models. For instance, this model is equipped with a forward collision-avoidance assist, which provides car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection. While driving, you'll benefit from highway driving assist as well as blind-spot collision-avoidance assist. Some safety features, like lane following assistance and driver attention warning, focus on helping drivers maintain their lanes. Finally, the Limited IONIQ 5 is equipped with SmartSense technology, which includes a blind-spot view monitor, surround view monitor, and remote smart parking assistance.
